Q: I tried it out, and it works fine. But after deleting some error codes, it froze, but after I restarted the program, the codes were erased, is there any specific reason why that happened?

A: If you are using a INPA k+Dcan interface, you might need a Voltage Control tool in order to properly close the operation.
If not, you might have some issues with your local installation and/or software environment and/or prerequisites needed for BMW Rheingold ISTA D.


Q: my question was: is fw-03-15-02 an officially update for icom? Or is here something modded, like “03-15-00-unprotected” or so? Because there is only one file different to 03-15-00. In the past there was always two different files.

Q: I just wanna ask about the difference between the BMW Rheingold software ISTA\D or P , ISTA+ and ISPI_ISTA ?? because I have a BMW E60 535XI 2008 and I wanna choose the best option for my car to diagnose or program , and also can I use that program with a K-DCAN OBD II cable which is the same I use for coding or I need to use another one ?

A: BMW Rheingold ISTA/D is for diagnostics of all BMW’s, Mini, and RR. It can only program Fxx/Ixx/Gxx-series BMW.
For E-series, you can use K+DCAN USB cable with ISTA+ for diagnostics, but you need ICOM and ISTA-P or Winkfp for programming.


Q: can’t I for examle update my ECU with sp-daten files using K+DCAN cable using Winkfp ? since it can be done using the same method but with another adapter like “iCarly’ ? I mean why acn’t I program using K+DCAN cable with BMW Rheingold ISTA P since ICOM is more expensive

A: Carly is a bluetooth device. K+DCAN cable will not work for two reasons; it cannot communicate over “most” interface (multimedia ECU’s) and would potentially take days to program with higher rate of likely failure. An BMW Diagnostic Tool BMW ICOM A2 emulator is less expensive than replacing an ECU.


Q: Now can you please guide me on what and where to buy a good quality of ICOM as I read that ICOM A+B+C is good but I really don’t know how much does it cost and from where to buy it since I saw some on AliExpress but I don’t trust Chinese quality.

ICOM C: adapter for old BMW with round 20 pin diagnostic plug

You can purchase directly from dealerships; though not sure they are still selling A2’s. If you read the BMW Rheingold  ISTA-P release notes, you will see that next does not always work for E-series.

Q: I’m trying to update SDP but from all files only German language was updated.
I’m doing that all the time but now I have problem and I can solve myself.
What I’m doing wrong?

A: It does not look like anything is updated. You must have xml’s and istapackage for it to work.


Q: I have now installed and changed old ISTA with new 4.07 but now ISTA says that data are incompatible?

A: It is normal, you only update databases, you have not updated BMW Rheingold ISTA APP
Current ISTA version should be the same as thread title after you apply Reg fix included with standalone.

Lexia Peugeot PP2000 Diagbox Using Tips Collected:

If App-835 folder is used to update DiagBox 7.xx, then updates 2, 3 and 4 can be used.

-- Ensure you have a backup copy of the file:
"C:\AWRoot\bin\fi\APPDIAG.SYS" before you start.
-- Download and execute the appropriate file for your own setup. The process will copy all necessary files to the updt folder, it will then automatically kill all associated processes to enable overwriting without conflicts.
-- Run DiagBox to start the update process and wait until DiagBox is operational. Once successfully operational, close DiagBox and restart your computer to ensure all processes are running
-- Done..!
You may run DiagBox as usual.

Lexia language is set to English and PP2000 to French, if you wish to change them, edit the DICO.TXT file in the EXE folders of LEXIA or OUTILREP (PP2000) and replace "GB" with "FR" or vise versa.
Notice that DiagBox version will NOT be changed by these updates.
DiagBox has been running on Firmware 4.3.4 since 7.66/8.02.

If you wish to revert to your original setup:

- Kill all processes again using the wicked batch file
- Rename the C:\APP folder to anything or delete it
- Rename your C:\APP8 back to C:\APP
- Restart the computer and start DiagBox.

Make sure you are running DiagBox as Administrator and the network is disconnected.

Before you start DiagBox, navigate to "C:\AWRoot\dtwr\updt\" and delete all contents of the updt folder. Otherwise, it will attempt to update the failed updates that you tried earlier.
Do not make changes in "AWRoot".

01) Run "E-sysE-Sys_Setup_3_22_5_b34057.exe" to install program to default location "C:EC-AppsESG" (i.e. "C:EC-AppsESGE-Sys")
 

02) During E-Sys installation, when prompted change the default Data Path from "C:Data" to "C:ESysData".
 

03) Copy "EDIABAS" folder to the root of "C:" (i.e. "C:EDIABAS")
 

04) Run "C:EDIABASHardwareEdiabas-KonfiguratorEdiabas-Konfigurator.exe" and make sure "Interface:" is set to "INTERFACE=ENET".
 

(It should already be set, but check anyway - if you need to change it, use the drop-down list and select "INTERFACE=ENET" and then "Andern" and then "Ende".)

08) Copy downloaded "psdzdata" folder to "C:ESysData" (i.e. "C:ESysDatapsdzdata")
 

09) Make sure that there is a "Dist" folder in each of the Chassis folders (F01/F10/F20/F25/K001/RR01) etc.(e.g. "C:ESysDatapsdzdatamainseriesF010F010_12_03_511odxdist")
 

(It should already be set, but check anyway - if not there - create empty "Dist" folders for each chassis folder)
 

*NOTE: E-SYS PSdZData IS NOT INCLUDED AND MUST BE OBTAINED SEPERATELY.

 

BMW ENET Cable E-sys  setup and copy TOKEN anywhere

You can copy the Token anywhere, but you have to go into Bmw E-Sys settings and point to it. 

Here are the detailed instructions I wrote (Note Step 9):

01) Run "E-Sys_Setup.exe" to install program to "C:EC-AppsESGE-SysE-Sys.exe" (Install Password is "lo8F3lsVVg" if prompted)

02) Copy "EDIABAS" folder to "C:EDIABAS"

03) Make sure "C:EDIABASBinEDIABAS.INI" is set to Interface = ENET
(should already be set, but check anyway)

04) Copy "e-sys est" folder to "C:ESysDatae-sys est"

05) Copy all "psdzdata" subfolders (all 7 Folders) to "C:ESysData psdzdatafolders_1-7"

06) Make sure that there is a "Dist" folder in each of the Chassis (F01/F10/F25) folders etc.
(e.g. "C:ESysDatapsdzdatamainseriesF010F010_12_03_5 11odxdist")
(should already be set, but check anyway - if not there - create empty "Dist" folders)

07) Turn Car's Auxillary Power On (Engine Off) and make connection to car with OBDII-Enet Interface Cable
(Wait a few minutes until the network adapter icon shows a Connection with the yellow exclamation point over it)

08) Launch "C:EDIABASHardwareENETZGW_SEARCH.exe" to verify cable and connection are working
(IP Address, MAC Address, & VIN will be displayed verifying actual communication to the car)
(ZGW_SEARCH.exe works intermittently on 64-Bit Windows - Not necessarily a problem if the ZGW_SEARCH window is blank,
so long as the computer's wired network adapter shows an IP Address assigned to the computer from the car)

09) Run "C:EC-AppsESGE-SysE-Sys.exe" (It will take E-Sys a while to write the log file) and Under Options, Settings:
On the ODX Tab, set the ODX Rule Path to "C:ESysDataRules"
On the EST Tab, set the Developer-Soft-Token EST Path to "C:ESysDatae-sys estCode Away.est"

On the PROGRAM TAB, set the Directories - Data Path to C:ESysData

10) Hit the Connect Button on E-Sys

Selcect Target Vehicle (e.g. TargetSelector:Project=F010-12-03-511m VehicleInfo=F010)

11) Select Connection via VIN, and click Connect
(Window should pop up confirming successful connection)
(The program will remember the "connection via VIN" for future connections)

12) After connecting to the car, each time you launch E-Sys, and Read / Code an ECU the first time, you will need the E-Sys PIN, which is 2690.

How to Solve BMW ICOM NEXT LED RED Light Flashing

The problem is that the problem with the processor and the algorithm for writing errors in the firmware from the old icom.

You can remove the error by connecting a three-wire fan or a pulse generator with a frequency of 400 Hz.

For normal operation it is necessary to set cool the CPU

Take action:

I will go with that fan. I need to buy a small fan with three wires and solder it. On top of the processor i will put some thermal paste with heatsink also.

Question: 

You know which of this 4 hole is for: Ground (GND), Live wire (VCC 5V) and Third Wire for fan control ? 

There are 4 holes and 3 of them have trails that goes to the board.
